The ultimate goal is this:
Presenter is in the smaller frame with the slide in another frame as the main focus. I made this in Premiere using a combination of black mattes and cropping.
My issue is that the presenter walks around, and in this configuration, out of frame. I could manually use keyframes to change the original shot's (pictured below) position, but that would be time consuming.
Is there a way to track his motion and make that whole process automatic?
i.e., Is it possible to track his motion, follow him within a small frame, then configure that frame as in the top picture so it looks like the camera is panning with him?
Sure. It's called stabilization (or inverse tracking) check the help for AE or mocha.
I used Stabilize Motion in AE using the lavalier mic as the subject's tracking point. Is there a way to follow him only if his horizontal movement is above a certain threshold? Right now it moves regardless of how miniscule the movement is, which is expected but maybe too much movement.
