I have created a book for Blurb using InDesign CS3. The first time the book came out fine, but had a white cover and black and white photos. The text had some color images. I revised the text and the cover, adding color to the paper layer in the InDesgin document. When I uploaded the book and the cover I had a problem with the cover as it would not show the color. This was evident at the stage where you are given a last chance to proof the book before the final upload. The cover document showed other changes I had made, but no color. (The book itself still showed the color images.)
The Blurb people do not know what the problem is because they are not familiar with Adobe.
The [Paper] swatch is always "no ink" no matter what you do to edit the color it appears on the screen. The purpose for editing the color is to simulate the appearance of a colored paper stock.
To add real color for a background, or anything else, you need to create a frame and fill it with color.
Many thanks. Once again, a little bit of knowledge leads one (me this case) astray.
