        Possibly you are trying to activate the trial version of Lightroom Creative Cloud version with a perpetual key? that will not work. Uninstall the lightroom application you have installed, this process will not affect your Catalog, Preferences and Personal files but just remove the application.

        Download and install the stand alone version fronm the link below, and run the installation and apply your key. If this is not the issue please report full details about your problem.
