    SetInterval

    Dave.Hollings Level 1
I have spend some time going through previous posts on this however I can't seem to get anything I've found to work. I have an external swf coming in and playing it takes approximately 50 seconds to finish. I what the parent swf _root to count 50 seconds then unload the movie from the seen, then play a local mc. I have tried several setItnterval functions however not have produced what I want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

          Okay.

You mentioned setInterval(), and that will certainly do it. I wonder,
though, if you might rather set up a loop (maybe an onEnterFrame loop) and
continuously check the _currentframe property of the loaded SWF against its
_totalframes property. Depending on the end-user's computer, that loaded
SWF may take fewer or more than 50 seconds, so a time-based waiting period
          isn't the most sure.

Let's see what you've tried so far. :)
