The do it yourself approach to disc menus has three basic routes....
a. customizing one of the existing Adobe ones at the level of the disc menu section within the open project
b. customizing one of the existing Adobe ones at the level of its .psd files on the computer hard drive
c. create disc menu from scratch using Photoshop CS or higher (you need a .psd editor that supports Layer Sets/Sub Layer Sets
in the Layers Palette of the main menu and scene menu .psd files.
Lots of details are needed once you go beyond "a".

the opened project's disc menu section.
