UPDATE: I found that exactly the same file, with same functionality, works perfect if I develop it using Edge Animate 4.0 and not 4.1
Is it possible that new publishing scripts of 4.1 are causing this fail?
I am scared to think about that possibility...
Sorry, I meant 5.0 , not 4.1
So 5.0 fails, 4.0 works OK
Which version of Edge are you using? If 2014.1, then upgrade it to the latest 2014.1.1.
Have you tried with other browsers say chrome browser on iPad with iOS7.
And can you share your simple composition?
I am using 2014.1 that creates 5.0 Edge Animate files according to what I see in the edge.js files. I think it's the latests as Creative Cloud doesn't offer me any other update so far...
I want to transform this HTML into a phonegap app, and it's not working there either, so I have no interest on testing it on Chrome, also this may work on Safari, so I'm only interested on that, I don't care about other browsers...
Same thing in Edge Animate CC 2014 works perfectly. I have read in other threads of this forum that there are some issues with latest version and audio playback on Safari iOS.
I just imported an MP3 or M4A audio file on the stage, then added a button (a rectangle, whatever), and provide a playback audio action to it for the click event. That's all !
Works if made form Edge Animate 2014, it doesn't work on Edge Animate 2014.1, and no error is shown so far in the console.
There has been a patch release of Edge which has version 2014.1.1 .
In the welcome screen of the Edge Animate 2014.1, on the bottom left you should find a yellow button "Upgrade Now". Do the upgrade and then try out.
But how can I know that with this n-th patch my problem would be solved?
I am getting skeptical about this...
Also... what is this thing about CC 2014.1.1 ????
I just uninstalled my Animate CC 2014.1 and re-install teh latest version Creative Cloud allowed me to do so and after that.... what I got is again 2014.1 !!!
What a waste of time .... :-(((
Go to the Help > About menu option. It should show 2014.1.1 if you updated to the latest patch.
Please share you composition files to get assistance.
I also recorded this quick video to show what is happening to me with the version 2014.1.1 thing.
Hope it helps, thanks !
Thanks for the recorded video.
Can you logout from the Creative Cloud Desktop App, and re-login again, and let us know if then it shows the upgrade for Edge or not?
I did, and I get again my list of apps where Edge Animate appears as fully up to date...
PLEASE is there any fix for this? I need audio playback on iOS ASAP....
Update to 2014.1.1 (the patch of the patch of the update...) using Adobe Application Manager if possible, not CC.
Tested that now (again) a button can trigger audio playback on iOS.
Glad Edge got updated to 2014.1.1 for you.
Please share what extra step did you do, to get it updated to the latest version.
Yes p lease share what worked for you, Publicar
Adobe Application Manager fires up automatically every day at 02:00 AM, showing updates to my installed applications, all together (CS6, CC, CC 2014, etc.) much much more than Creative Cloud Desktop is able to show.
Then I saw an Edge Animate CC 2014 pending update in AAM (not in CC!)
I proceed to that update and now I enjoy this version that I hope solves my head aches!!
