I've done everything that is mentioned in that page: uninstall, remove opm.db, re-login on CC, etc. but no luck, I install Animate again and it's CC 2014.1
I am using Mac OS, may be this patch is available only for Windows by now?
No I believe its for all.
Go to the Help > About menu option.
What version does it say in the window?
I guess you're a Windows user as you locate versions in Help > About menu
In Mac OS there is not such that option. We use the Edge Animate menu instead, where, as I have made several times today, the version that reads is 2014.1
So my conclusion after all this research is that Adobe has published on Nov 20th an update 2014.1.1 only for Windows !!
I hope someone form staff gets aware of this tomorrow when they are back to work and fix this!
Yes I am on Windows, but I also just got confirmation from a Mac user that his updated to 2014.1.1.
So on that note something is amiss with your process,I suggest go through the above reference link again.
Make sure you are logged out of the CC Desktop app, and exit from it, make sure it is note running. Then try the above reference link routines.
OK, I already updated to 2014.1.1
CC Desktop is useless for that sake. I waited until Adobe Application Manager fired (as usual, dailay at 02:00 AM local time) then it showed an update for Edge Animate CC 2014, that after installed, it becomes CC 2014.1.1 . So force AAM execution for update. Not the most intuitive!
And it's funny to see the progress bar reading "Updating the update..."
Thanks to everyone folks.
I've followed the exact description (twice!) but EA still won't update to 2014.1.1.
Is there any other way to get around this?
Getting the same, and no one has contacted me back yet, so you're looking at a unhappy customer at the moment.
Still can't upgrade to 2014.1.1.
Hate to say it but ever since Adobe went CC and sent support offshore and had all those issues with Flash vs Apple my faith in both companies has slowly dwindled. Sorry but that's just how I feel at the moment.
I managed to update it via AAM (Adobe Application Manager) and I still preserve the DMG file of the Patch (about 45 MB)
Could share if it's helpful for someone!
I've run into this issue twice when trying to update Adobe Edge Animate, and in my case, I didn't realize that it installs the updated version in it's own new folder. So the shortcuts to it that I manually created on my desktop were actually pointing to the older version, making it look like my Adobe Edge Animate wasn't installing properly. If all else fails, check your shortcuts to Adobe Edge Animate and make sure they are pointing to the newest installation.
Hey there finally got it all working thanks to a phone call from Adobe.
Here's the process that worked for me (on a mac)...
Macintosh HD > Library (not user Library) > Application Support > Adobe > caps
Rename the caps folder to “caps.old”
Quit Adobe Creative Cloud and then restart it.
Update or install software.
Then rename “caps.old” back to “caps”
Then it should be fine, it seems somewhere in the updating files it got corrupted.
