I'm interested in creating a DNG profile using DNG Profile Editor (or any extra manual coding I need to do) that will invert & color correct a 5D3 RAW capture of a film negative. However, I would prefer that the profile perform a linear inversion as a starting point... Is this possible using DNG profiles, or (being matrix based) is this self-contradictory (to have two tone curve adjustments--one for the inversion and one for the color corrections)...
If this is indeed impossible, is there a way to produce a DNG profile that will invert and color correct a RAW capture of a film negative?
Any helps would be wonderful so that I don't go barking up something that's not even a tree,
I think PE could do an inversion using a custom curve as part of the DNG profile generation, but I don't know of anyway to easily remove the orange mask without a lot of twiddly adjustments. The curves could also prolly do a cast correct but it would be work. Also note that that profile would ONLY be useful for that specific film stock and even the same stock will vary due to processing.
