    Stage position

    Level 7
      Hello:
I would to put the stage in loc(0,0) when I press Ctrl+Alt+1 to view in
authoring mode my movie. But always the stage is in other position.
Do you know how to position the stage in 0,0 location? I have tried in Movie
properties but I don't find any parameter for this. I remember in newer
      versions this possibility.
      Thank you very much

I believe setting (the stage).rect will do it.

            No, it does not.

I must be missunderstanding your issue. I use that all of the time to move
              the stage.

I think actually you're not talking about using Lingo to do this but using a
built in feature of Director for authoring. If that's so, you might want to
try the basic forum instead of the Lingo forum. If it is a Lingo solution
you're looking for could you give a bit more detail? Do you want to move
the stage to 0,0 so that you maximize authoring window space on the monitor?

                  Thank you very much.
I don't know If this can do it with Lingo or not.

When I press Ctrl+Alt+1 (in authoring mode) I only see the stage (score,
cast, etc. are not visible) but the stage is cutted I can't see the stage
completly. How can I see the whole stage?
                  thanks.

                    Level 7
Where is the stage cut off? At the top or to the left? If so, you need to
change the stage location in the property inspector. Go to CNT-Alt-s then
click on the movie tab. If you don't see it, click on the stage and it will
                    show up.

There you can change the left and top coordinates. I hope this helps. I'm
still not sure it's what you want.

For a Lingo solution, you could try executing the following lines in the Message window:

                      vRect = the stage.rect
                      vRect = vRect.offset(-vRect.left, -vRect.top)
                      (the stage).rect = vRect

This will place the top left corner of the stage at the top left corner of your monitor. If your stage is bigger than the monitor, then you could try:

                      1) Opening the General Preferences pane (Director | Preferences | General... on Mac Edit | Preferences | General... on Windows)
                      2) Ensure that the Show Stage Scrollbars checkbox is selected
                      3) Resize the Stage so that it fills the monitor (Green title bar button on Mac, drag an edge or a corner on Windows)
                      4) Select 50% in the Scale contextual menu at the bottom left of the Stage window

Other solutions include double-clicking on the hand or magnifying glass icons in the Tool palette.

What mean: "Go to CNT-Alt-s" ?

I only want to show my movie in full screen in authoring mode. The top of
                        the image is cutted.
                        In the stage properties movie I have this: rect(3, 126, 1027, 894)
But when I try to change any parameters it come back again to rect(3, 126,
                        1027, 894).
In Display Template Tab I have tried to modify location to 0,0 but the top
                        continue cutted.

I see a grey frame on the top (about 50 pixels).
My screen resolution in Windows XP is 1024x768. I make a movie with the same
resolution and in author mode when I press CTRL-ALT-1 I must see the full
screen but I get a grey frame on top. And I don't see my movie totally.
Do you know how to fix this?
                            Thanks again and again.

I think that this grey frame is the title bar for the stage window. You
can turn that off in the Display Template tab of the Property Inspector
window. In the bottom half of this window there are four check boxes.
Turn off the one titled, "Visible".

                              That may solve your problem.

If you open the Display Template tab of the Property Inspector window
and type in something in the Title space and then use Fullscreen View,
do you see what you typed in the grey space? If this is so then you are
seeing the titlebar for the stage window.

What type of window are you using?

                                    Thank you:
When I type something in Title space I don't see anything because Director
is in authoring mode. If I make a projector I see the title and full screen
is right, but in author mode I don't see title and I get grey space on top.

Well that's the answer. I dont' think you can see the whole stage when the
stage is the same size of the monitor because of the title bar. I know if
was mentioned that you can get rid of the title bar but I thought that was
                                          only for a projector.

But yes there was a way to view the whole stage and have it look like a full
screen projector. I thought it was CNT-ALT-SHFT-<something> but I've tried
a few things and I haven't been able to make it work. but of course that is
only for running a movie, not when it's stopped and you're coding or
                                          developing
