What is the EXACT message and are you sure you opened the newest version
Thanks for responding. I'm on a Mac with Yosemite. I have been a Creative Cloud member for some time but haven't updated InDesign since I installed it, probably close to a year ago. Anyway, I went to my Creative Cloud box where it offered to update the program, and I did that. When I tried to open a file I was working on just yesterday, I got this response:
Cannot open "Lifeline working.indd" because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS7.2). You must use that version or later to open the file. To then enable the file to be opened in this version, choose Save As InDesign CS4 or later, or export to IDML.
Of course to do that I would have to have the CS7.2 which I just gave up for CC.
To clarify, I guess I didn't update so much as switch over to InDesign CC by installing it.
Sounds like you had CS6 on the machine and updated that. CS7.2 would really be CC, version 9.2.
I'm going to mark this as answered, assuming I figure out how. I tried "open with" instead of open, and got it to open in CC 2014.. Apparently my file association was still set to the older version.
Thanks much everyone
