No video in Program Monitor - "Media Pending" warning

    Ron in IL Community Member

I'm using Premiere Pro CC v8.0 on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.  The last time I had been working on this project, while I was still on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, I didn't have this issue.  Not sure if it's related to that or not.  In the upper right video box, the display simply says "Media Pending".  I can click on the video bar itself and it shows up in the upper middle video box and plays.  I know that the files are linked.  The rendering shows as green in this sequence, but is red and yellow in another while having the same problems.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,

      Ron

For what it's worth, the upper right video box works.  I'm working on another sequence in the project, pulled in some video, and it's working perfectly fine.

Okay, let me try to be more clear, as I'm not getting any responses.  When I'm in the Timeline and hit play, so I guess the video should be playing in the Playback viewer in the upper right.  In the middle top, I actually have double-clicked on the clip so it's showing up like it's supposed to in the source monitor.  Any idea why I'm getting the "Media Pending" message?

Is the media pending appearing on just the clip  you are parked on in the timeline, or on the entire sequence?

Go to the head of that clip on the timeline and type Option + [ to set the work area at the beginning of the clip, then move to the end of the clip and type Option + ] to set the end of the work area to the end of the clip.

Now go to the menu  Sequence > Delete Work Area Render Files. Does the clip reappear once unrendered?

I finally found another discussion with a related issue.  They said I need to cut out my preferences, or something like that, but the easy solution was to copy the files on the timeline and paste them into a new sequence.  I did that, and it's working in the new sequence.
