    Accidentally Flash Player Folder

    jonnybones Community Member

I updated Firefox this morning to 34.0 and then checked for plugins and saw that I needed to update flash player. I then updated it and restarted the browser but it still said that I needed to update the plugin. So I then uninstalled flash player and then was looking around in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Player and deleted the Flash Player folder. I then installed flash player again and then Firefox finally recognized that the plugin was up to date. However, I checked to see if the folder "Flash Player" in the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe I deleted was created again but it wasn't. Should I be worried?

          Hello,

The C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Player directory is not associated with the Flash Player plugin used by the browser.  The plugin used by the browser is located in the following locations:

          • \Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash - 32-bit location on a 64-bit OS (a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit OS uses the plugin from this location)
          • \Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash - 32-bit OS location, and 64-bit location on a 64-bit OS (a 64-bit browser on a 64-bit OS uses the plugin from this location)

The C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Player directory is associated with other Adobe products such as AIR.  If you have other Adobe products installed, they may be impacted.  If you have not emptied your Recycle folder you should be able to restore this folder to its original location.
