1. Re: Adobe Professional for Mac 8.x.x updates not available anywhere
Kaewngam Dec 1, 2014 11:05 AM (in response to nghead)Why not change the Default to the application you want?
Do a "get info" on any PDF file and then choose "Open with" about half way down the window. Choose the application you want from the drop down list and click "Change all…" where it says "use this application to open all documents like this one".
I have mine set to "Preview" so Acrobat is not the default but I had to change this setting after installing it as it changed the default.

2. Re: Adobe Professional for Mac 8.x.x updates not available anywhere
nghead Dec 1, 2014 11:19 AM (in response to Kaewngam)Sorry I wasn't clear. Its not that it does hijack the default, its that it just *tries* to hijack it. Its more of an annoyance really as it prompts you every time you start the programme, and doesn't remember your answer between restarts.

3. Re: Adobe Professional for Mac 8.x.x updates not available anywhere
nghead Dec 2, 2014 8:43 AM (in response to nghead)So just been in touch with Adobe Support and their stance is that the 8.x.x patches are unsupported now and therefore unavailable. Their friendly 'advice' was that I shell out $150 for the latest version to fix a bug with the software I have already paid for. Ummm, no thanks.
