1. Re: Links to pages
Test Screen Name Dec 3, 2014 2:34 PM (in response to IanHem)"Open" in what sense? In a browser? No, you cannot.

2. Re: Links to pages
IanHem Dec 3, 2014 11:23 PM (in response to Test Screen Name)Yes I was hoping that in the same way you can open a pdf online with a browser at a particular page i was hoping to do the same, but I now realise I can't do this locally.
Is there a work around you could maybe recommend?
I could of course spilt the document into separate files, but there are 211 pages.

try67 Dec 4, 2014 12:27 AM (in response to IanHem)Sure you can do it, both in a browser and locally. Google "PDF Open Parameters".

Test Screen Name Dec 4, 2014 12:39 AM (in response to try67)My experience, which may not be complete, is that PDF open parameters work in a browser only for http type URLs, not file URLs. And there is the solution perhaps: use an intranet, not file sharing.

try67 Dec 4, 2014 1:01 AM (in response to Test Screen Name)I didn't understand that that's what we're talking about... If that's the case you might be right.

6. Re: Links to pages
IanHem Dec 4, 2014 2:09 AM (in response to try67)I looked into this already Using " #page=5"
This works fine in a browser using http because the browser does the page request but as test screen name says in a file url the "#=page5" is seen as a file extension.
However Test screen name I'm interested in your intranet theory.

try67 Dec 4, 2014 2:16 AM (in response to IanHem)What kind of links are you using, exactly?

8. Re: Links to pages
Test Screen Name Dec 4, 2014 2:34 AM (in response to try67)By "use an intranet", I'm assuming that these are files to be shared around an organisation, with links between them.
That they are to be viewed in a browser. That they are on a shared disk. And you use file: URLs (directly or implicitly).
So, I'm proposing you use an intranet, which would involve sharing the same files through an in-house web server, and using them via http links instead.

9. Re: Links to pages
IanHem Dec 5, 2014 12:52 AM (in response to Test Screen Name)You are quite correct in your assumptions. I will look into that because although we don't have this on our network it could be useful.
The links i was using were \\Server-a3a2a56c\archive (d)InspectionManual\user.pdf#page=4
