1. Re: DW CS6 Testing server only shows login screen of my site. I can't get under the hood in live wiew. The pages I want to change/alter is visible only after I log in but I don't know how to reolve that.
Ben Pleysier Dec 2, 2014 5:22 PM (in response to Redcreeker1)Live View (in CS6) tries to emulate a running program as you would when you view the program in a browser.
Use Design View instead.

Now I know the difference between those two buttons...
However, it wasn't the remedy for my problem it seems... the design view turned up as a blank page.
Very well, Need to solve it somehow.
Rather annoying to not be able to see what you change

Ben Pleysier Dec 3, 2014 2:38 AM (in response to Redcreeker1)Regarding a CMS site, the page is usually populated from data that is stored in a database using a server side scripting language. Unfortunately, Design View only supports a static language like HTML, hence there is no retrieval of info from the database.
The only way out of your predicament is to temporarily remove the the user authorisation for the page that you are changing so that you do not have to log-in each time. Trouble is that you may forget to re-enable the authorisation.
What I always do is to open the site in a browser and check the change made in DW by refreshing the page in the browser. That way you need to log-in just the once.
