    Phantom lines appearing

    dan stack

I'm stumped. There is a phantom outline appearing around a layer when zoomed to 25% or smaller. The outline disappears when zoomed in past 33%. Screenshots are attached. Any suggestions?

              Hi

can you go to the Adobe Photoshop Preferences > performance

please click on the advance setting under Graphics Processor setting

Please change the Drawing mode to basic, if it is already on the Basic then change it to advance

restart the Photoshop and try the same

Thanks deepakgahlot, neither drawing mode nor "Use Graphics Processor" on/off make any difference.

Having said that, I fixed it. It was apparently some sort of artifact from the layer mask around the bird illustration.  When I extended the mask to the full frame the lines went away. It is definitely an artifact and not part of the image being masked since there isn't any black under the mask in that area. I'd still like to know why PS is rendering the edges of the mask, but the workaround seems to have solved it.

                Thanks for your suggestions.
