1. Re: Putting serial number into lightroom
JimHess Dec 2, 2014 10:45 AM (in response to rmurgz)When you start Lightroom, the trial screen will appear telling you that you have 0 days remaining. On that screen there is provision for you to indicate that you have a serial number. Tick that option, and you will be able to enter the number.

rmurgz Dec 2, 2014 11:10 AM (in response to JimHess)Hi Jim,
Thanks for the response - what you describe was what I expected - however instead the application loads straight away (Mac OS X) without a prompt but with the develop functionality disabled. Not sure if this is because it is trying to push me towards a CC subscription when I have a bought license.

3. Re: Putting serial number into lightroom
JimHess Dec 2, 2014 11:16 AM (in response to rmurgz)You have downloaded the trial version of Lightroom for the creative cloud. It is licensed differently, and needs to be activated with your Adobe ID and password. If you have purchased a standalone license for Lightroom 5 then you need to uninstall that version and download the standalone Version from here:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7

rmurgz Dec 2, 2014 12:47 PM (in response to JimHess)Thanks Jim - i won't even pretend to understand why there are two completely separate versions of the program for the two license types...

5. Re: Putting serial number into lightroom
JimHess Dec 2, 2014 5:06 PM (in response to rmurgz)I realize that it can be confusing. But the standalone version is activated using the serial number. The creative cloud activation and operation is dependent upon Adobe ID and password. The Lightroom program is exactly the same. There are no differences whatsoever. However, the program is "wrapped" in a different licensing wrapper.
