Row.contents is an array of cell's contents. Joined array is a string. This string is something you should exam (i.e. its length)
So, iterating through mTable rows, remove the first one which
if (!mTable.rows[k].contents.join("").length) // ==> is empty
another possible test
if (!mTable.rows[k].contents.join("").match(/\S/) ) // ==> is empty or filled by white spaces only
