BTW...... Been 3 days trying to get help from Adobe on this... the phone support couldn't get connected to my computer and just told me to download the earlier version of the program which makes no sense...
Ever since Flash Builder 4.7, they dropped Design View. That's why they told you to use Flash Builder 4.6 instead.
There are 3 Flash Builder alternatives:
The best Flash Builder alternative is FDT, but it does not support MXML Design View.
The 2nd choice is IntelliJ IDEA, you can download a MXML Design View plugin, it's very cool.
The 3rd choice is FlashDevelop, it's free and open sourced, but it's Windows only, and it does not support MXML Design View either.
How do I download 4.6 without paying for it? If I cant download it I cant
work with it...
I want to build mobile apps to include math formulas.... example here:
Is Flash Builder the right app to replicate similar formulas and put them
on mobile apps and websites? Or is there another available program?
I still would like to have Fb 4.6, and know which apps are good for mobile
I'm a customer just like you. I'm not from Adobe.
I've looked that formulas site, they can be done either using Apache Flex SDK or some HTML/JS frameworks.
Apache Flex SDK Installer
Flash Builder, FDT, IntelliJ and FlashDevelop, they all support the latest Apache Flex SDK.
But if you use the latest Flex SDK with Flash Builder 4.6, the Design View section will be disabled.
If the Design View is very important to you, use IntelliJ + MXML Design View plugin + Flex SDK, or just use Dreamweaver to do HTML/JS/CSS application.
I am exploring the alternatives..
