Why does it always stop installing update at 33%? It says lost connection and then trying to reconnect but never does.(Windows)

I have firefox and in my plug ins it says I need to update both but it stops at 33 % everytime

Microsoft Windows xp professional

intel corel 2cpu

4300 @ 1.80GHz

1.80GHz, 200 GB of RAM
