I have done the merging data without any problem. Add the @ sign before the column heading and this works fine. When the link is a location link, there is no problem in merging.
Only when the '@picture is an URL link (https://www. ) to that picture, this is where indesign does not want to display the picture. I've tried to work around this by using hyperlinks in mail merge but this does not seem to work.
I want to merge the picture into indesign from an url link and display this picture automatically.
Anyone any idea's?
The picture feature of Data Marge requires that the pictures be locally stored, or stored on a file path. I think you're out of luck.
The only way I know of to use images external to your local drive or server is to map a drive to the URL of the root of the web site. After that, then it will become a path.
It's not a good work-flow. It's slow to make work, it's slow to do the merge. It's prone to frustration.
