First time going into the metadata in lightroom and I come across the field that says "Creator", and it's filled in with the name "PAUL YOUNG". This is confusing as I am not called Paul. These are photos I have taken however, the camera (Canon 50D) is secondhand: is there anyway you can set this in camera?
Has anyone heard of this happening before? Am I going to have to change the metadata on all my photos?
NB - it's on more than one photo.
I don't have a 50D, I have a Nikon, but yes you can change this information in some cameras.
You need to look in your camera manual (or find it online) and see how to delete the name, or change it to your own name.
In Lightroom, this is easy to fix one time ... select all of your photos and then in the Creator field, type in your own name.
Yeah I got it. Quite annoying, just noticed on all my flickr photos in the exif it says Paul Young. Must have been the previous owner. Damn. Thank you though.
With the 50D you will need to use "EOS Utility" to change the "Creator/Copyright" info, it can only be viewed or deleted from the camera "Menu". See page 46 of the user guide. If you do not have these, they can be downloaded from the Canon website.
