Your samples should work, but why are using them in the compositonReady event handler?
What you are attempting should be under the relevant event (mouseover, for example) for that particular event.
it doesnt work in IE, and i dont know what to do. I jus follow the way indicated here:Trying to make a custom cursor to use in Adobe Edge Animate.Help? : web_design
as i understand, the code in the compostionready indicates the default font over the indicated elements. How is better to do it in a IE compatible way?
You can take a look in COMUNICRACIA! (In the upper video composition i included the 'compositionready code (enough in every no-IE browser) and also the element code... in the 4videos composition included the compositionready code only . Trying this way works fine in every browser but IE.
but i dont know if im following the right way to get custom fonts in an all browsers compatible way .
Your sugGestions will be really apreciated.
thanks a lot as always!!!!
This could be the reason:
Cursors have been the subject of security bulletins and updates. If your custom cursors are not behaving as expected, examine the security settings for your browser along with your cursors. This is a common issue with animated cursors. For an example, refer to TechNet Security Resources and search for "Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-002".
Sorry I dont understand what that means, and what would happen in the typical people browsers... thats the target for all of us...
Using Edge, can't I use a custom mouse icon (not animated, just a basic 32x32 png) working in IE???? Really????
I am assuming that IE doesnt work fine with web fonts...
I am assuming that IE doesnt accept any css filter as blur, brightness, greyscale...
AND even I can not use a f-ng basic cuscom icon???????
What happen here? IE is the biggest %users!!
Please, There have to be a way for including a basic mouseover custom icon working in a basic user IE...
I have seen this message in IE9 url based CSS cursors don't appear to work, looking for alternatives
(im not a programmer, just a openmind designer ;-) but could this be a rigth way?
I dont know if the solution could go this way, but I have been trying code alternatives without luck...
>I have changed these codes:
Added the custom cursor with this code in compositionready: (I had this one, working ok everywhere but IE)
Tried too this one in each element: (I had this one, working ok everywhere but IE)
>with these syntax (and some alternatives) changing the "cursor" line with:
"cursor":"url(images/cursor.png), url(images/cursor.cur), default"
"cursor":"url(images/cursor.png), url(folderpath/assets/compositionfolder/images/cursor.cur), default"
BUT IT DOESNT WORK... I NEVER SEE THE CUSTOM MOUSEICON IN IE :-(
1.- IS THIS PROCEDURE OK???? (adding a cur file?)
2.- HOW WOULD BE THE RIGHT SYNTAX??? how wold you write it??
simple solution, IE does not support png as cursor image.
concert the png to a .cur file, trough a online converter.
then it will work.
Rob, this is a great idea! Have you tried it?
It seems to work!!
Finally, the easier the best!!! I tried diferent things but the easier!!
.cur seems to work in IE, and also in chrome anf mozilla...
Thanks a lot.
Ckecked, It works in chrome, mozilla and opera, also in IE.
Couple of comments FYI:
- Not a major problem but: The cursor changes well in Chr, Mozz and opera, but in IE is not perfect. In IE doesnt change to the new icon in the correct position... In the other browsers it changes when the arrowhead or the finger tip access to the mouseover new area (the up/left corner of the icons, smoothly as expected) while in IE changes when the bottom area, left or right side access the area, then all the cursor changes jumping the fingertip the number of pixels as the icon dimension... The most strange effect is when you go up entering or leaving the area... take care friends as there is an horizontal section where the pointed zone doesnt work... until the complete icon leave the area.
- I have converted the png to .cur in www.convertio, and it do it well, but it creates a minimun white 'line' around the icon.
Any suggestion to try another file converter?
Where can I edit the .cur file?
this kinda comes from the time that you had to also use .ico for icons of the browsers, so ico and cur and kinda related.
but there are photoshop plugins for this
online converters: How do I change an image into .cur?
sorry for my english Rob. I dont understand your first line.
does it means that there is a solution for the problem #1 using a ico file in any way?
or the best we can get in IE has the indicated problem? (not major anyway)
Thank you very very much!!!
Rob I owe you one!
no, i just wanted to tell that .ico and .cur are related to eachother ( both old microsoft based formats )
about problem #1, it just really sucks to work with IE, alot of bugs and almost done options to debug it properly.
