    InDesign to HTML without styles

I need to convert some print magazine pages in InDesign to content for our website. When I export the file to HTML, it uses the character and paragraph styles for formatting. Is there a way to get those out of there so I just have a really plain HTML file that uses basic formatting tags? For example, I want to italicize the word "localize." In the original InDesign file we use a character style for this. In the exported HTML file it looks like <span class="italic-Warnock">localize</span>. I want it to use the <em> tag instead. Is there a way to do this?
