Guess I won't have to practice tough love on telling you about updating mid-project. To roll back following this link: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application
Before you toll back, which should take a few hours, you should spend a few minutes making sure that your drivers are up to date, especially your graphics cards.
When you are ready to tackle the upgrade, get ready to do a clean system install -schedule the time to do this, it's what I had to do on a couple systems for 8.1 to work, and does fly if done right.
Thanks... I should know better. I will give it a try, it's going to be a long night.
We'd like to understand as much about this problem as possible. Can you provide any more information about what you mean by "projects lock up"?
- Does Premiere Pro hang so that you have to kill the process through Task Manager?
- Was there any error message?
- At exactly what point did the projects lock up? Did they load to the point where you could see your sequences?
Whatever the details of the locking up, was it limited to projects created in a previous version? Did you try creating new projects? How big are the projects--both the size of the .prproj and the collective size of the assets used? Would you be willing and able to provide a copy of at least one of the projects?
Also, I assume that when you refer to "the latest update," you mean CC2014.2. But I've learned that it's not a good idea to assume such things, so please confirm exactly which version you're on.
