InDesign 2014.2 Release | 10.2.0.69 Build
I recently upgraded to the latest version of InDesign via the Cloud app and two chronic issues have reappeared:
- Text randomly disappears during editing on the page.
- Launching the spellcheck function causes InDesign to crash.
Come on, Adobe — I (and many other users) dealt with these problems for months after we transitioned from CS6 to CC 2014. Eventually, you fixed the problems, but it took forever! Now they’re back with your latest “upgrade.”
This is ridiculous!
Did you trash your prefs?
Do you have any non-adobe plugins, like font auto-activation?
Thanks for your advice. No I didn’t take any action after installing the upgrade. Which preferences do you recommend I trash? Non-Adobe plugins: I don’t think I have any. I use Font Explorer Pro or font management, but it does not auto-activate fonts.
Yes, I do have the Font Explorer InDesign Plugin installed. Not good?
Remove it temporarily and see what happens.
Still having this issue: InDesign crashes about 80% of the time I use spellcheck. InDesign’s spellcheck tool is effectively useless. Needless to say, that’s a problem for a desktop publishing app. I’ve tried all the usual suggestions: deleting preferences, disabling plugins, etc., etc. Does anyone have a solution?
worked for me! Thx
