The update won't install it gets to 50% and crashes. CC2014 Pre pro using on iMac 2011 with 12gbs ram and MacBook pro 8gbs ram. I'm running the program at the default setting as installed. The freezing is during editing. I'm editing a 4 min music video with 5 layers of footage and one sound track....
Exactly which version of CC2014--as shown in the About box. There have been four releases under that version. From your report that "update won't install," I gather that you're not on the latest: 2014.2. The CC Cleaner Tool might help with getting the update installed: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6.
More detail about the scenario in which this occurs would help. "During editing" doesn't give us much to go on. Does this happen when you're dragging a clip to a new position? When you trim the end of a clip? When you scroll the timeline?
As a troubleshooting step, try disabling all the video track. Then re-enable the video and mute the audio track.
Does the app hang indefinitely? For minutes? For a few seconds?
