Most cameras only have an Adobe Standard profile:
492 camera models have Adobe Standard profile.
166 camera models have profiles in addition to Adobe Standard, mostly Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony.
The only Leica model that has more than an Adobe Standard profile is the M8.
The Adobe Standard profile is camera model specific, 492 versions of it. LR identifies your camera from the Exif and loads the appropriate version.
Camera unit specific profiles can be made using ColorChecker or QPCard targets and the software supplied with them. Or, using the free DNG Profile Editor, you can make a version of the Adobe Standard profile customized to your taste.
Thanks. This explains it. Glad I'm not missing some critical functionality.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll consider this approach if I am not happy with the single built in profile.
