Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 has stopped working error

    tim101

      Hello guys,

I have recently built a new computer with the following specs:

      CPU: 4790k (stock speed)

Ram: Team Extreem 16 GB (2x8) (at 2400mhz)

      Motherboard: Asus Ranger 7

      GPU: Zotac 780ti Amp edition

      Storage: 250SSD Samsung evo + Barracuda 1TB

      PSU: 850 G2 EVGA

      Operating System: Windows 7 Professional

All drivers are up to date.

So I have installed the creative cloud and then proceeded to install the applications in the following order: Media Encoder, Photoshop and Premiere Pro CC. Both media and photoshop have no problems but premiere pro CC crashes upon clicking on it.

I would click on the premiere pro CC button and the premiere pro loading screen will pop up but then the 'has stopped working error' will happen immediately.

I need to get this problem solved within the next couple of days because I need it for a very important video project. If this problem cannot be fixed in the next 2 days I will, unfortunately, have to refund my subscription with adobe (still within 28 days) and use Cyberlink or Vegas.

I tried searching the forums and google but haven't found a solution that works for me. Could someone please lend a hand?

          Hi Tim,

          Try these two things:

          1. Press Shift and Alt and restart Premiere Pro.
          2. Reboot the computer

          Thanks,

          Kevin

Yes Kevin I have tried restarting the premiere pro with alt and shift and also tried to reboot. I went as far as re-installing creative cloud and premiere pro CC. Still get the error as soon as I try to activate it.

Anymore help would be appreciated. Thank you

              Hi,

Please launch event viewer in your computer and go to Windows logs > Application. Check the detailed error log for Premiere and paste it here. You can also attach a screenshot.

Also, does it crash on loading a specific plugin on that purple splash screen?

              In the meantime try this:

Go to Device Manager > Display adapter > Right click on the display adapter and choose update > Browse my computer for updates > Let me pick the location > Choose Standard VGA or Microsoft Basic Adapter > Update.

(Sorry for not using the exact options as I am not in front of the computer)

Launch Premiere and see if it works.

              Thanks,

              Rameez

I did that and now my GPU adapter isn't even recognized anymore. The error is still there and I have to reinstall my Nvidia Driver.

Please post a screenshot of the Windows System Info dialog: StartMenu>ControlPanel>System. (You might want to blur or delete everything from Computer Name, Domain, and Workgroup Settings down.)

A common cause of crashes involving ImageRenderer.dll is not having Service Pack 1 installed for Windows 7.

                        Hey Mark,

You might have hit the nail on the head there. I have not installed windows service pack 1 yet. I will let you know once its done updating. Hopefully it will launch after this but I will keep you updated.

Updated the windows and the program launched. Thank you very much for the support to everyone involved especially Mark. The issue was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Please specify what you mean by "the same issue." Does the crash log cite ImageRenderer.dll as the faulting module? If not, please start a new thread and provide the information requested here: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
