I recently got a macbook pro for christmas with OS X Yosemite and the adobe CS5 suite. At first the were running fine. but later on I started having issues. Photoshop and after effects are the main ones. I can't open after effects. When I try the adobe after effects logo comes up. But then I get a spinning wheel of colors when I hover over it. I look at he task manager and it says not responding and I have to force quit. I can open photoshop, but when I try to make a new canvas, It stops respond, I get a spinning color heel, and I have to force quit. This is very frustrating. Please give me a solution to this problem. How do I make these programs work again?
Too bad someone didn't investigate the application software's compatibility with the OS before taking the plunge. You'll have to revert back to an earlier OS or get a newer version of the Adobe suite. AE CS5 won't work properly with Yosemite, and Adobe doesn't support it for Yosemite. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
After Effects CS5 is not supported on Mac OSX v10.10 (Yosemite).
After Effects CS6 and later are supported on Mac OSX v10.10 (Yosemite).
See the system requirements.
