    How to copy MM menus?

    phrarod Level 1
      I searched the archives as this must be a know problem. I have all the nav in drop down menus. This isn't set up as a template. I need to add some new names under the MM drop down. I have 80 pages and other than going into each page by hand and retyping the additions I can't find a way to copy the info on one corrected MM drop down and do a site wide search and replace.

      Help!

      TIA. This has been driving me bonkers for months.

          Which drop-down menus? DW/FW ones?

          Can you post a link to a page so we can see what you are describing?

            These are DW drop downs where you specific the links in them. Here's an example page. Roll over on the FAQ nav.
            http://thaiendurotrails.com/tours.html

            I was trying to create a template just for the top section which is the same for each page except for the slideshow hoping this would be easier for future updates. I couldn't get the program to only do that part of the page as a template even when I put in editable areas for the body which is different.

            Really appreciate the help. I need to fix this for that large site. I can't link to it because the client doesn't want it seen yet. Its identical how the drop downs work and need to be copied as in the example above.

            Thanks for your help. This is a nightmare.

              OK - definitely FW/DW pop-ups there:

              <script language="JavaScript">
              <!--
              function mmLoadMenus() {

              These menus are not template compatible.

              > Thanks for your help. This is a nightmare.

              Yes, it is. That's why I am *SO* outspoken about these awful menus, and why
              nobody should *EVER* use them. Sadly, you have already.

              The only real solution is to replace these menus with ones that work in a
              practical sense. Is there a chance you would do that?

                Hi Ace. No clients love these drop downs because they see them everywhere.

                So I have change them all by hand?

                  The clients may love the functionality, but they have no idea what's
                  under the hood, most likely.

                  Switch to the project seven ones--hopefully you can turn them into
                  server-side includes and save yourself a lot of cutting and pasting.

                    Hi Bonnie,

                    What is project 7?

                      Not Bonnie,
                      but you can learn how to build them yourself by using the PVII tutorials
                      http://projectseven.com/tutorials/navigation/auto_hide/index.htm
                      or you can check out their commercial menu extensions at the same site.
