Here are some choices, with caveats:
- Move files to a web accessible location (website, cloud service, file sharing, etc.) And then create links to those locations. Keep in mind, this suggestion may have issues with path directories, security, sharing permissions, etc.
- Attach files to PDF. This suggestion requires Acrobat to attach files. Interactive buttons can open attached PDFs. But other file formats would require user to access the attachment panel within Acrobat/Reader to open the file.
Ok so I've exported the interactive pdf and i can see from within acrobat that buttons which change destinations work and carry over to other computers. But the attachments which are suppose to open when i click on a file open button don't carry over the actual file just a link which is lost when i email the pdf. So how do i attach the folder in which all files are in? Also thank you for a quick response. Appreciate it.
As mentioned, you need to use Acrobat to attach files to a PDF.
The Attachment Panel in Acrobat is kinda buried, the screen capture below shows how to activate the Attachment tool to the Navigation Panel
Then you can select tool, select paper clip icon to add files (not a folder). Attached files are included with the master PDF.
ok thanks very much.
