This is what i see in photoshop cs6 13.0.6 with acr 8.3 on snow leopard using a sample dng from here
Leica M is listed under the Make drop-down menu
And the lenses listed under the Model drop-down menu
Hello R_Kelly -
Thank you for your reply…
To be honest, I know where I have to look in the menu ;-)
The problem is, that I don't see the same things :-(
See, there is no clue of Leica®. Even if I choose Setup "Auto"…
And what's strange is is that Photoshop® (CS6) itself recognize the kind of camera I'm using (when I go under the "Lens Correction" menu):
But no the lens model (and I'm sure that I'm on "AUTO" recognize lens model in my camera, and off course that my lens is from the factory "coded").
Also, what's more strange, is when I look at the index.dat file and that I make a search with the keyword "Leica", I find plenty of Leica lenses!
Any other suggestion?
Thank you, and Happy New Year to all of you… :-)
Are you opening jpegs or dngs (the raw file format in the leica m typ 240) from the camera?
If you have some dngs, try those.
I always open DNG compressed (RAW file from the M Typ240)…
You are right, it opens as JPG.
But I'm sure that in the camera I put the configuration to "DNG compressed" (and only DNG).
1. So what I'm doing wrong?
2. Do you think the problem of lens dtection could come from this?
Thank you for all your answers.
The reason i asked about jpeg is i get the same results as you in camera raw when opening a jpeg from that camera.
Camera raw 8.3 seems to detect the camera and lens when opening dngs, but not jpegs
I don't personally own one of those cameras, so you'll have to look at the owners manual to see how to set to dng.
In case you don't have one:
I made some tests…
And in fact it's coming from the why I open (import) files into ACR.
ALL my pictures are managed by iPhoto®.
And I drag'n drop the pictures onto Photoshop's icon to open them via ACR.
Working like that opens JPG files (even if I take/drag the DNG files from iPhoto®).
Thank you very much for your time and answers…
