I don't believe that that is a supported workflow for InDesign Fixed Layout EPUB files, unfortunately. It's apparently due to limitations in Kindle's support for the EPUB3 Fixed Layout specification.
Steve, could you a bit more specific. Is it the @font-face that has the limitations? Are text hyperlinks not possible? Everything else looked and functioned as expected.
I don't know, but Anne-Marie Concepcion has a video about Fixed Layout EPUB with InDesign CC 2014 and she talks about font issues and Kindle. I've had no need to create Kindle Fixed Layout EPUB files.

After a few days of dissecting the xhtml and css generated from ID, I have been able to find a solution by adding TT fonts to the @font-face and removing the web kit from the css for the linked words. If anyone needs specific information on the workflow, message me and I'll be happy to share.
