    InDesign and exporting .svg images

    shawninvancouver Level 2

Is there a plugin or otherwise that will allow InDesign to export .svg images?

My documentation tool will only accept vector images in .svg format and all my illustrations are done in InDesign (because it is a heck of a lot easier to use than Illustrator).

Currently, my workflow is kind of ridiculous!

From InDesign - I export the illustration as a PDF

Open PDF in Adobe Acrobat - Crop the image to specific size, Save as new PDF  (because saving a cropped InDesign illustration appears to misbehave from time to time - also I don't know the 'Artboard' equivalent in InDesign)

Open PDF in Inkscape - Save image as .svg

I really wish I could just Export directly to .svg! Oddly enough, I swear InDesign did support .svg back in its early days. FYI, .svg is still an important vector image format and a darn bit more size efficient than .eps.

*BUT* there is no way I am going to pay $199 for a plugin (re: Purchase SVG Kit 2.0.2 for Adobe Creative Suite). That is pretty excessive, IMHO!

I understand that this post will go nowhere.... just wanted to rant a little.
