Projecting video from laptop OR DVD

I have a bunch of clips I'm planning to put together and show in a couple of months.

All were saved as DV NTSC and corrected to look best on a TV screen (they're SD).

When they're shown, they can be played on a DVD from a laptop or else projected from the laptop's drive.

When played on a computer screen, they have noticable interlacing. So

What's the best codec to use to avoid this and which will look best if...

      1. I want to transfer it to DVD and project that?

      or

      2. I want to project it direct from a laptop ?

      Thanks.
