I have created a PDF that I want to send to one website only make it read only and block anyone else from opening it but without the use of a password. Is this possible with Acrobat Pro XI ? I was thinking cross domain permission, identify the one url as the only permission ? I'm a total newbe with Acrobat Pro XI and creating PDF's in general.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Nothing can stop a file on the internet from being downloaded, shared, emailed and reposted.
DRM (Digital Rights Management) can control who can open it. DRM includes Adobe products, which require a 5-6 figure budget, dedicated server to run it on (so access can be checked) and a trained administrator. Generally something for big publishers.
You can protect the document with Certificate Security.
This presumes that you have at the time of encryption public key certificates for all people who you possibly want give access to this PDF.
