Running an iMac 3.4 i7 with 24gb ram and having issues with ram preview when I'm using AE with Cineware. When I include my object buffers, shadows, and amb occlusion passes it severely chokes this system.
The comp is only 568x320 - iphone video with 4 Cineware layers. I've converted the video file to pro res, reset my disc cache to an external g drive, memory panel has 21gb dedicated to AE.
After it does finally chug through a complete preview my shadow layer will look mostly black - pic attached. I can turn off this layer and preview does slightly speed up, although still seems kind of slow for the comp size.
Apologies if this question has been posted before. I've scoured numerous sites and haven't really found any solutions.
Not sure what you expect. Ambient Occlusion is computationally intense in C4D and not particularly fast nor are certain shadow types like area shadows. None of this is in any form accelerated. Seems to me you simply do not understand this and expect it to fly through like element 3D v2 would...
Thank you Mylenium, you do have a way with words.
