This time the same error message popped up stating it couldn't read or my files weren't found over and over again.
Please give us the exact word-for-word error message.
What operating system?
I just bought Lightroom and have the same problem - MacBook Pro with OS X 10.10.1. LR actually displays the photos properly when previewing but fails when starting the import. Also, a couple of times it would start but would hang up. I think it may be a Yosemite problem. I was having trouble importing with Aperture too. The fail message from LR was:
The following files were not imported because they could not be read. (6)
I can copy the folder from the camera to my desktop and then import. That works but of course I shouldn't have to do that.
Ooops. looks like a silly problem. I had to select and output folder. Not sure why because I didn't have to do this for all the imports I did yesterday. Anyway, problem solved...
I know that you have solved your issue, but, i thought i might add another reason for anyone with a similar issue reading this.
Occasionally i forget to close EOS Utility before importing from my camera which always locks my ability to import RAW into LR so i have to quit EOS Utility disconnect my camera and reconnect it and it then sees the RAW files.
I had this same issue - I've been using lightroom for years and then all of a sudden in 2015 I can't import any photos. I also use a MAC. I'm not very computer save can you tell me how to create an output folder?
Sorry marilouk, I lost track of this thread but anyway, I use the "destination" settings in the import dialog and check "into subfolder" and organize by date. Also, I select the pictures folder as the destination folder. So I get dated folders inside the pictures folder.
