How is the "interface"... interfacing? ie what connection?
What is the interface hardware?
The interface is connected as follows:
interface (firewire 6 pin out) > external drive 1 (firewire 6 pin in and out) > (firewire 9 pin adaptor) > external drive 2 (firewire 9 pin out) > (thunderbolt adaptor) > Mac Pro (thunderbolt in).
Hope that makes sense. I know that sounds convoluted but that just how I have to do it because of cable limitations and older units (i.e. interface and external drives that don't have thunderbolt ports). But it seems to work for every thing else such as my audio NLE.
To put that more basically:
interface > ex drive 1 > ex drive 2 > Mac Pro
Hope that helps!
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the interface is a "PreSonus Fire Studio Mobile" basically it's an audio in/out audio unit generally used for audio recording software but can really be used for any program with audio editing capabilities such as Premiere, AE, SG, and such. Also the NLE audio software that I use is Logic Pro 9.
