resolution of pictures reduced after burning project to disc

I just completed a project with about 1000 pics.  After burning to disc, I noticed resolution was much reduced from originals.

Any suggestions on how to rectify?

Please remind us what version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system your Premiere Elements is running?

Also, what are your project setting and what were the details of your burn to disc...

DVD-VIDEO standard or widescreen on DVD disc

          AVCHD format on DVD disc

Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc

Just in case mention...you burn to resolution with depend on the standard of the choice.

ForNTSC  DVD-VIDEO standard and widescreen, the frame size is 720 x 480. In the case the widescreen, a 16:9 flag stretches

the video to about 856 x 480 for display after encoding. With a burn to AVCHD on DVD, you have the opportunity of a higher

resolution format (1920 x 1080) on the disc. But the consideration with the latter choice is disc space and the fact that you cannot play back

this AVCHD on DVD disc on a regular DVD player. Blu-ray on Blu-ray disc also offers a higher resolution end product disc (1920 x 1080). Needs

a Blu-ray burner and player as well as Blu-ray disc.

Prime consideration, what type of disc and what type of format on that disc does your player support?
