Why is Premiere CC 2014 v8.1 playback choppy?

I've been working with Premiere v8.1 for about a month and its slowly becoming more complicated to work with b/c of playback issues. The more I edit with more media and audio with transition effects, fast premiere color grading, and even render (to a green line), to more choppy the playback is. I've dumped my cache files and it only work once or twice on play back for a couple seconds then eventually became whole choppy again. Below are my specs:

      Mac Pro 1,1

      Lion OS X 10.7.5

      Premiere v1.8

10 out of 250GB SSD Start Up (programs only)

300 out of 2 TB Internal 7200rpm Hard Drive (Media and Assets)

      7 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM RAM

      2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor

ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Card (In-use)

NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT Graphics Card (not connect by monitor)

      Media:

      Apple ProRes422 29.97fps 1920x1080

      Sequence Settings:

      Set to match to Media

      Edit mode: custom

      timebase:29.97 frames/second

      Frame Size" 1920x1080 Square Pixels

      Fields: No Fields (progressive Scan"

      Display Format: 30fps drop-frames timecode

      Audio

      Channel Format: Stereo

      Sample Rate: 48kHz

      Display Format: Audio Samples

      Video Previews

Preview File Format: I-Frame Only MPEG

      Codec MPEG I-Frame

      Composite in Linear Color

I've never hand problems in CS 5.5 version of Premiere even when handling RAW RED 4K footage playback at a low res setting in playback settings with just 7 GB, so its hard for me to understand why its acting up with just prores footage in a more updated Premiere with matched media settings. So what can I change in the settings to make this work?
