Are you talking about publishing or something else? I'm not sure what WYSIWYG has to do with this.
As far as I know, RH doesn't support publishing over SFTP. But you can always use another tool to publish the output over sftp.
For serving the content to your users, you can use HTTPS. (But there has been issues on the forum coming from using HTTPS with WebHelp.) RoboHelp creates static HTML and if you set your server to always redirect http to https, it should work (But there may be issues as some people have reported issues on this.)
I was being quite literal when I said "WYSIWYG". What you see when publishing is all that is offered. There is no option for HTTPS or SFTP.
So the options you SEE are What you GET!
LOL. I'm not always this dumb though :-b
Thanks for the info, and yes, I was confused about the WUSISUG response as well. In any event, I believe you are correct regarding RH doesn’t support publishing over SFTP (which is dissapointing).
Thanks for clarifying. But there does seem to be “disagreement” regarding whether RH supports HTTPS? It does appear they support https, but there are issues with it? Thanks for your insight.
First off, sorry for confusing anyone with the WYSIWYG reference. Failed attempt at humor. Ah, live and learn.
Can you expound on what you mean when you say: But there does seem to be “disagreement” regarding whether RH supports HTTPS?
If you are only referring to this thread, are you sensing "disagreement" because Willam said you can serve content to users?
Here's the deal. I sort of "read between the lines" with your post and made an assumption and it seems I may have needed to ask you to clarify before tossing an answer out. The assumption I made was based on your statement of: it only lists ftp or http
That made me believe you were referring to the Publish section in the Single Source Layout properties. (shown below)
This dialog allows you to specify a protocol used to UPLOAD your generated content to a server.
What Willam was referring to was the END USERS viewing the content AFTER it has been uploaded.
Your assumptions were correct. I misinterpreted William’s reference to the end user viewing after it has been uploaded.
Thanks again. I’ll just have to have our IT/ TeamSite folks focus on setting up a restricted access for our developers so they can publish, as they do not like the fact that there is no sftp nor https support. I can’t believe our company is the only company out there that requests secure ftp? Wonder why RoboHelp doesn’t offer this?
Please submit a feature request for SFTP. I need it as well.
