Protecting Form from Spammers

Hi,

I've 'register your details' cf form on website that's hijacked by spammers to send spam email. Whats best practice, general idea or code if you have, to prevent this spamming, ie prevent it occurring in the first place and/or stop the spam now occurring through registration form?
