Not sure the result will be 100% desirable, but there is a way to set all the frames to auto-size...
Launch the Find/Change feature and choose the Object Tab.
Near the bottom, choose Document on the Search: menu. Choose Text Frames on the Type: menu.
Click the glass/frame icon next to the Find Object Format field:
In the Find Object Format Options dialog, choose "Off" on the Text Frame Auto Size Options > Auto-Sizing menu:
Click OK, then click the glass/frame icon next to the Change Object Format field:
In the Change Object Format Options dialog, choose "Height Only" on the Text Frame Auto Size Options > Auto-Sizing menu, then click the top-center button in the frame-pinning proxy:
Note: A different pinning option might be better depending on your layout(s), but this setting will make the frames grow at the bottom, which seems the most logical...in most cases.
Click OK then Change All.
@John+Mensinger, This solution worked perfectly! Thank you so much.
Rob, I did not try your method because the previously suggested method worked. While it seems like this would probably be a good solution with the opportunity to check each text frame individually, it is not ideal for my purposes, as there were 1,390 overset text errors. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Yes John's solution is a good one as long as there's not much of an overflow. It would be possible to push the frame off the page using Autosize, so I think you still have to check unless you are sure the oversets are only a few words.
Right, hence my little disclaimer there at the outset of my post. There are a lot of scenarios in which a blanket change to Auto-Sized text frames would result in chaos, but mikee's original post just struck me as a description of a fitting occasion for it. Of course mikee was smart enough to run it on a copy of the file, right mikee?
Haha... Yes, actually. I ran it on a copy of the file that I was going to pull one page from anyway. It wasn't until I was running it on the actual file that I noticed it was affecting more than the intended 1,390 text frames. When I saw that 2,183 changes had been made, I knew something was up. All I had to do was tweak the minimum size and it left those additional text frames alone. Thanks again to both of you!
