Does anyone know why, when I have HD footage (1920x1080 square pixels) and I export as MXF OP1a IMX 30 PAL (720x576) with aspect set to D1/DV PAL Widescreen 16:9 (1.4587), the exported file has 704x576 active picture with 8 pixels of black pillarboxing each side padding it out to 720x576? Is this an old standard for analogue TV?
This happens with Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder.
This because DV pal widescreen is not exactly 16:9 and 1920x1080 is.
Check the Scale to Fit in the Export Settings Output tab, that will take of the black bars.
Ann, thank you! It was Stretch to Fill that did the trick, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Actually its scale to fit as stretch to fit does what it says.
It makes a perfect circle oval. But on the otherhand its not very noticable.
