Hey Thanks for the link. It's almost working. I am currently trying to do something similar, i.e. I would like to open another application (exe file) by either a SWF, Flash Projector (exe), or HTML, I don't care in which format I have to publish, as long as i can get this application open.
I downloaded the files from the URL you posted http://www.actionscript.org/resources/articles/28/1/Launch-Applications-using-Flash/Page1. html
When I rebuilt it, it wouldn't work. Interesting enough was that it would work, as soon as I renamed my own Application into Test1.exe and used it to overwrite the original Test1.exe in this folder. Suddenly it worked.
So I am assuming that there are certain settings within the Publish settings panel or that Flash Pro 8 is simply buggy. Any idea, what it could be?
Ayayay, There is the solution.
The example above was made in Flash 4 I assume. I am currently using Flash 8. For all those of you who are trying the same as me:
so basically you need a folder in the same directory as your projector. This folder is labelled FSCommand and you need to save your application or exe file that you wish to open inside this folder.
now it should work.
you probably have an incorrect path from your flash exe to your application.
