1. Re: How do I find out load time of image other than for 56 kbps
Herbert2001 Jan 17, 2015 12:24 AM (in response to vegasgal47)I do not think you can do that in FW CS6. The download speed indicated in Fireworks should be taken with a fairly large grain of salt, in my opinion.
A far more realistic test is to use tools like yslow and gtmetric, and the built-in inspect web dev network tools in Firefox and Chrome.

2. Re: How do I find out load time of image other than for 56 kbps
vegasgal47 Jan 17, 2015 8:42 PM (in response to Herbert2001)Thanks Herbert! I used to be able to adjust the speed and see what the load time was in previous versions but I like your suggestion to use the other options so I will do that!
Thanks again for taking the time to answer my question!

3. Re: How do I find out load time of image other than for 56 kbps
vegasgal47 Jan 17, 2015 8:45 PM (in response to Herbert2001)I looked into the other items and they seem to work with web pages. I just want to know what the load time is for just an image. Do you know of any way to do that?
Thanks!

4. Re: How do I find out load time of image other than for 56 kbps
Herbert2001 Jan 18, 2015 1:21 AM (in response to vegasgal47)Well, the point is to test your images in a real world setting by placing them in a web page, and load them up to the web server.
Alternatively, you could open the images in Photoshop, and open the save for web dialog. There is a small arrow on the left of the download speed text to change settings.

vegasgal47 Jan 18, 2015 9:39 AM (in response to Herbert2001)Thanks! I do test all my webpage load times but I wanted to tell a NEW client the difference in load time from one image he already had on his site that someone put (HUGE!) and the one I created after resizing and optimizing. It would have been just an estimate anyway. I'll try Photoshop. Thanks!!!
