I just got a macbook air for christmas and have recently downloaded lightroom 5.7. When I went to edit my photos the adjustment brush was acting funny. In lightroom 4 i could place the brush anywhere on the image and adjust to my liking but now i can only seem to get the adjustment brush to work/show up if i place it in the corner of the picture and drag it along the photo. When i put my mouse in the middle of the picture (where i want to adjust) i get the curser image but when i move my mouse to a corner of the image the adjustment module shows up. What am i doing wrong? Did i click on something i shouldn't have?
I am having the same problem. this was posted in january...no responses?
I'm on LR CC now and never had an issue with LR 5 and the adjustment brush, and I'm not finding a problem in CC, either, but then, I use Camera Raw more heavily. Perhaps if you opened Preferences and selected Reset Local Adjustments? If that doesn't work, perhaps Cmd-Opt-Shift (Ctrl-Alt-Shift) when clicking on the app icon to launch it will bring up the delete all preferences dialog. Worth a try, but then you'll have to manually set up your personal preferences.
