Yes, Adobe stopped active support and development of Fireworks in May 2013. It will no longer receive any updates.
For Mac there is Sketch. You could switch to Photoshop. For Windows Xara Designer Pro could be an alternative. I switched to Photoline, and a bunch of other tools to replace both Photoshop and Fireworks.
I thought it was new feature frozen but would be undated.
The last update was 12.0.1 June 2013. I guess that is telling enough?
Expect no more updates.
And according to Adobe they will stop selling CS6 after two major OS updates... So with the next Windows update Adobe will probably go CC only. And FW will be no more. :-(
